2013 MARINE CORPS MARATHON CHARITY RUNNER PROGRAM

SHARE YOUR PASSION.  FUND-RACE FOR TEENS RUN DC AND GIVE THE JOURNEY MORE MEANING.  

The Marine Corps Marathon, popularly known as “The People’s Marathon,” is the 4th largest marathon in the U.S. and 8th largest in the world with 30,000 participants from over 50 countries.  With no qualifying race required, the MCM is open to any runner 14 years or older. However, this accessibility causes the marathon to sell out very quickly—last year registration closed within 2 hours!

Get guaranteed entry to the 38th Marine Corps Marathon when you run to support DC youth and become a Teens Run DC fundraiser.  

When you register, you’ll receive:

  • Entry into the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon
  • Fundraising Information Packet  
  • TRDC training t-shirt
  • Training schedule, if requested, with regular email updates, training tips, and inspiration!  
  • Opportunity to join TRDC community in our weekly Saturday runs (for those in the DC area)
  • Reward of supporting DC Youth in achieving their running and life goals

BONUS:  The first 10 runners to reach their fund-raising goal of $500 will receive a Teens Run DC embroidered fleece.


Your Commitment:  $500

$125 Registration fee to cover race entry fee and administrative costs.Due with application.
As the fair market value of this purchase is equal to the amount paid, no portion of this fee is tax deductible.
$375 minimum.  Due October 1. 
As Teens Run DC is a 501(c)3 corporation, all donations are fully tax deductible.

Cancellation Policy
Once your application and payment are received and accepted, you are responsible for raising the pledge balance of $375, even if you cancel for any reason, including injury.

Jeff is a certified running, cycling, and triathlon coach, and is the author of "My First 100 Marathons" (Skyhorse Press 2008) and "Smart Marathon Training" (Velo Press 2011). An obviously addicted runner, Jeff has run at least one marathon in every state and on 6 continents, including marathons in South Africa, China, Bangkok, and Antarctica. Jeff is available for group, one-on-one, and virtual coaching. Options include: 1. Basic Training Plan. This includes a customized training schedule geared towards a goal race, with a detailed running schedule that would include all distances and target times for each workout, including speedwork, tempo, and endurance sessions. 2. Complete Fitness and Race Plan. This includes the plan listed above, plus the non-running workouts and drills that runners need for better overall fitness and performance. You would get strength & core workouts, as well as run-specific training drills and stretches. 3. Virtual Coaching. This includes all of the above, implemented on a week-by-week basis. We review each week's progress at week's end so that adjustments can be made. The program is tailored to suit you right up to race day. It involves more contact, on a weekly or even daily basis. 4. Full Coaching for athletes in the Washington DC area. All of the above, plus a weekly workout together including speedwork, drills, and strength training. 5. Individual track sessions.
