RUNNING EVENT IN DC! Water Street Gym’s Spring Kickoff Event Features Jeff Horowitz

Water Street Gym in Georgetown will kickoff the spring endurance sports training season on February 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a workshop and expo for runners, triathletes, and cyclists.

The Spring Kick Off will feature Jeff Horowitz, who will talk about how crosstraining and strength training can bring big performance gains to runners, triathletes, and cyclists. Jeff will take questions and autograph copies of his book.

Partners from the Washington, DC endurance sports community will offer gear tips and advice, new product previews, treadmill gain analysis, and sports nutrition consultations.

  • Cycle Life Triathlon Team with Eric Sorenson will preview entry level triathlon bikes and demonstrate a proper tri bike fitting.
  • The Georgetown Running Co. Team will introduce new shoe models from Brooks Running
  • Kevin Maggs, DC of Active Spine and Sport will perform treadmill gait analysis for runners and triathletes.
  • Rebecca Scritchfield, RD will take questions on sports nutrition and diet.
  • Bedrock Companies will provide food and refreshments.

Jeff is a certified running, cycling, and triathlon coach, and is the author of "My First 100 Marathons" (Skyhorse Press 2008) and "Smart Marathon Training" (Velo Press 2011). An obviously addicted runner, Jeff has run at least one marathon in every state and on 6 continents, including marathons in South Africa, China, Bangkok, and Antarctica. You would get strength & core workouts, as well as run-specific training drills and stretches. 3. Virtual Coaching. This includes all of the above, implemented on a week-by-week basis. We review each week's progress at week's end so that adjustments can be made. The program is tailored to suit you right up to race day. It involves more contact, on a weekly or even daily basis. 4. Full Coaching for athletes in the Washington DC area. All of the above, plus a weekly workout together including speedwork, drills, and strength training. 5. Individual track sessions.
